LANA HO-SHING: A LITERARY PIONEER IN THE BRONX!
It comes as no surprise that Lana Ho-Shing was the proprietor of a bookstore which was nestled in the heart of Dyre Avenue, a Caribbean enclave in the Bronx. After all, as a young girl, books were her favorite source of entertainment, her fount of information, her unswerving companion.
"Books have always excited and thrilled me," states Ho- Shing, her eyes bright with passion. "During my childhood in Jamaica, I used to visit an idyllic bookstore in Kingston every Saturday. For me that was sheer bliss!"
